At Coogee Animal Hospital, we have invested in advanced diagnostic equipment. This allows us to quickly identify health conditions and start treatment immediately.
Examples of equipment and tests we can run in house are below.

With further training, members of our team are able to perform abdominal ultrasound and echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart).

We are able to analyse urine samples in house to provide answers to if your pet has a urinary tract infection, crystals in their urine or other urinary conditions.

Our in-house lab provides rapid results for biochemistry, haematology, coagulation, and hormone assays. By performing these specialized screenings—including tests for pancreatic inflammation—on-site, we can make faster, more informed decisions. This ensures your pet receives the precise care they need without unnecessary delay.

With direct radiology (DR), this allows us to create high quality, fast producing images of structures such as bones, thorax, abdomen. Our team are trained to read these images in house same day. We also have the option of sending radiographs to specialists for secondary opinions.

Our in-house cytology allows for the rapid, microscopic evaluation of your pet’s lumps, bumps, or skin irritations, often providing answers during your initial consultation. This immediate insight helps us distinguish between inflammation and more serious concerns so we can start the right treatment plan right away. For complex cases, we also work closely with specialist veterinary pathologists to ensure your pet receives the most comprehensive diagnostic care.
